“Tobiuo” is the Japanese name for flying fish. Its streamlined body allows its swimming to reach such a high velocity that it breaks the surface of the ocean and uses its wing-like fins to glide up to 655 feet. This unique attribute makes it stand out in an ocean full of fish. Like the tobiuo, we, in a world full of sushi restaurants, choose to be different. We choose to break that ocean surface and refuse to be just another sushi restaurant among many. That is why we are Tobiuo. People see our vision and tell us we should have opened a location in the city instead of the suburbs, but our aim is to bring those in the suburbs an innovative taste close to their home reef.
